Called to Protect by Lynette Eason

From the Queen of Christian suspense this book will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end! Drawing to light some very serious issues, like human trafficking this book is unsettling at times, but very captivating as well.
Chloe St. John is a force to be reckoned with, when her heart is broken by her fiance she vows to stay focused on her work, good thing too because she lands a huge case that involves human trafficking and it just might shed light on her missing cousin.  As her life becomes intertwined with Blake, whose daughter is missing, they form an undeniable attraction, but as they fight to say the lives of those they love will they be able to survive?
Filled with heart racing suspense, a great romance and wonderful characters this is a great read that I highly recommend!

A rumored fortune by Joanna Davidson Politano

If you are looking for books with an intriguing plot, riveting characters and rich historical detail than look no further. This is the second book by Joanna Politano and like the first one it certainly did not disappoint. Her writing is reminiscent of Charles Dickens in plot (certainly much easier to read and no near as wordy!). This book is about the poorest rich heiress, Tressa who has always craved her Father's love and  affection but when he mysteriously disappears and is presumed dead she find that his fortune is no where to be found, thus ensues a delicious romp in Victorian England where people are not whom they seem and where love for Tressa might come from the most unexpected place.
Filled with a great story line, memorable characters and page turning intrigue this book is an excellent read.

It's all under control by Jennifer Duke Lee

For those of us who like to believe that we can have everything under control and going our way this book is a great reminder the path of control is not one we are meant to be traveling and it often leaves us feeling overwhelmed and downtrodden because it was never ours burden to carry.
This book is amazing and insightful, so encouraging to think we don't have to be perfect and we shouldn't be feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. I particularly found the chapters on prioritizing and letting go to be very beneficial and insightful, I know too often you can be so busy doing too much that isn't super important.
Filled with keen insight and wit this book is a must read for anyone who feels like they have to do it all and fail miserably.

Darkwater Secrets by Robin Caroll

This was such a good book and such a promising start to what I hope to be an amazing series. Filled with just enough mystery, intrigue and romance this book is sure to hook you from the very first. I have never been to New Orleans but the book seems to capture a lot of the rich history and troubling past. Filled with some fabulous characters as well as some incredibly awful characters (she does villains very well!) this book is a quick read that is hard to put down.
I enjoyed the character of Adelaide and cannot wait to see where the next books take her and who she ends up with, I know who I am rooting for but I have no inclination where the author will take her in the romance department.
If you like a smart romance with likable characters and a rich complex background than this book is for you! There wasn't a huge mystery per se and it isn't too hard to figure out but this book has a lot going on so it certainly does not disappoint!

It's momplicated by Debbie Alsdorf and Joan Kay

This book is such an awesome book, for women who want to try to understand their own relationship with their Mother's to Mother's who want to nurture their own relationship with their daughter  I cannot recommend this book enough!
I have a great relationship with my Mom and so blessed to have her, this book made me realize all the more how incredibly blessed I really am and yet I still felt like this book applied to me. I can see how things my Mom did or said have very much shaped me into who I am today and how the things I say and do (or don't do) for my daughter will have a major impact on her life.
This book is such a great reminder that there is healing and hope for any relationship and I don't say that lightly because I know there are some terrible Mother's out there and one of the authors had a pretty bad one but it was beautiful to see some of the healing that was brought to them in later years .I loved the reminder that I need to be more intentional in my parenting and that many of our decisions and what we do deeply impacts our children.
Well written and very thought provoking this book will get you thinking and want to improve one of the strongest bonds you will ever have, that of the relationship with your Mother.
