The dream of you by Jo Saxton

Such a beautiful encouraging book for women who have forgot to dream and become all that God intended them to be. Insightful and very encouraging this book serves to inspire and revive. Too often we make it through life merely surviving and being a shadow of what we could be and this book reminds us that we are made for so much more.
Filled with personal stories from the authors own life and filled with rich insight and wisdom this book is outstanding and so very encouraging!

Breaking Covery by Michele Rigby Assad

This book reads like a work of fiction and yet this is based on a women's work for the CIA that is both inspiring and terrifying! The things this women has seen and done is amazing! It is really almost hard to believe that someone has done all of this stuff! This book is a real page turner and keeps one utterly engaged until the very end and how could it not? It is well written, utterly engaging and spellbinding all at the same time! Michele is an amazing women and readers will be amazed by what she sacrificed and has done for our country and how many others are doing things we cannot even dream of. I love the element of faith she writes about and how she does not shy away from religion or how God played a part in her life.

Sacred Rest by Saundra Dalton-Smith MD

Sacred Rest
Sacred Rest: Recover Your Life, Renew Your Energy, Restore Your Sanity (FaithWords, December 2017)
Staying busy is easy. Staying well rested— there’s a challenge.
How can you keep your energy, happiness, creativity, and relationships fresh and thriving in the midst of never-ending family demands, career pressures, and the stress of everyday life? In Sacred Rest, Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith, a board-certified internal medicine doctor, reveals why rest can no longer remain optional.
Dr. Dalton-Smith shares seven types of rest she has found lacking in the lives of those she encounters in her clinical practice and research-physical, mental, spiritual, emotional, sensory, social, creative—and why a deficiency in any one of these types of rest can have unfavorable effects on your health, happiness, relationships, creativity, and productivity. Sacred Restcombines the science of rest, the spirituality of rest, the gifts of rest, and the resulting fruit of rest. It shows rest as something sacred, valuable, and worthy of our respect.
By combining scientific research with personal stories, spiritual insight, and practical next steps, Sacred Rest gives the weary permission to embrace rest, set boundaries, and seek sanctuary without any guilt, shame, or fear.
My opinion: This book is just what I need as I added my second child to our family here recently and feel anything but rested. This book combines research, scriptures and personal stories to make an amazing, encouraging book that engages and inspires one to make more of an effort to get rest in ones life so that you can fully engage in life and live it to the fullest. What a great book to read at the beginning of the year to help prepare for the year and to make rest a priority and not an afterthought like we so often do. Daring to Hope by Katie Davis Majors

So many of us fell in love with Katie Davis because of her bestselling book "Kisses from Katie" and now we get to fall back in love with her again in her new book "Daring to Hope". We find Katie a little older, more mature and having gone through more heartache since last time and yet we will quickly find that despite the hardships she has faced, despite the trials that Katie has emerged stronger than ever and her faith once again shines through.
I loved how raw and honest Katie was, once again, giving us a glimpse of a young woman who views herself as ordinary and yet who God is using in an extraordinary way. I love how she doesn't shy away from the hard questions but faces the head on and despite seeing the absolute poverty and despair still believes in a loving God.
Utterly thought provoking and life changing this book is an excellent read.

Missing Issac by Valerie Fraser Luesse

A lovely book written by a new author who is sure to become a favorite. I wasn't sure what the expect when I got this book to review but it exceeded my expectations and then some.Written about the 1960's which were turbulent  times  this book brings all of that turbulence to the forefront as young, wealthy Peter stops at nothing to find out what happened to his friend Issac a black field hand who goes missing, what Peter finds out about his town and those he loves will stretch and grow him in ways he could never imagine.
Well written this book really draws you in and makes you feel like you are there. This coming to age story is  about tragedy, the power of love and heartache, at the end it is just a plain amazing book.

Another riveting read by the Queen of Criminal fiction. I was eager to start this new series and I am so glad I did! I loved the main character Isabella and look forward to getting to explore the rest of her siblings stories in the future! What a great start to what looks like it will be a great series!
Steeped with mystery, intrigue and romance this book has it all and leaves you on the edge of your seat until the very end.  I loved how there was a lot going on and you really weren't sure where the story was going to take you.

Resotre by Vince Antonucci

I was intrigued to read this book and it looked really good, in many ways it met the expectations I had for it but in other ways it fell rather flat. Some of the authors points were right on while others were a bit out there. I felt like the author had some good personal experience and experiences of others but some of his points felt off. The writing at times felt a bit choppy and didn't always flow very well but I liked some of his steps for being restored, he had some excellent points that were encouraging and well thought out.

The air I breathe by Louie Giglio

I am a big fan of Louie Giglio so I was delighted to get a chance to read his new book and I was not disappointed. This book is such a fascinating and engaging read about worship and how it should not just be something we do when in church but every day of our lives at all times, living our lives in such a way that worships God in all we do.
I love the title of the book and how it really makes you think that worship is something we should and can do in everything and it can become as natural as breathing. Certainly a challenge for me and something I want to work on this coming year!
