A heart deceived by Michelle Griep

I had great hopes for this book. The premise of it sounded intriguing and unique, but I was sadly disappointed by the lack of plot and character development.
The story is about Miri Brayden who is stuck in a delicate position relying on her older brother who is going crazy and should be in an asylum, but if he does go then what will be her means of support in a society where women's options were limited to marriage?
In comes Ethan comes looking for Miri for reasons of his own and grows to develop feelings for her,but when she finds out why he came with their tender love be cut short?

I was really excited to read this book, but for me the writing fell flat and the characters were not very well developed. I thought Michelle Griep writing was decent enough if she had gone with a better developed storyline with more realistic characters and situations.

Learning to Love:Passion, Compassion and the Essence of the Gospel by Heidi and Rolland Baker

"Learning to Love" by Heidi and Rolland Baker is a truly amazing book by two people who really strive to serve the Lord in all they do. Chocked full of testimonies and wonderful stories about their own experiences in Africa this book is all about the concept that Love is not just a word or an ideal, but it really is an action. Heidi and Rolland along with their children have spent over 30 years in Mozambique sharing the love of God with others and striving to show that love to others.

A Noble Groom by Jody Hedlund

"A Noble Groom" by Jody Hedlund is a tender historical romance by one an increasingly popular Christian fiction author.
This book is about Annalisa Werner whose life has not turned out very well, her husband has passed away and she is struggling to save the family farm. In an act of desperation at the prompting of her Father a letter is written to find her a groom from Germany. As Annalisa awaits her groom's arrival Carl Richards appears from Germany and starts to work his way into Annalisa heart, but what is she to do with these feelings as her groom might arrive any day?

This was an engaging read with an interesting enough  plot and likable characters. I think that her story lines could be a bit more unique, but she is a decent author.
